Simpson House Inc. offers three primary levels of support—Independent Living for residents who need minimal assistance, Assisted Living for those who require routine help with daily activities, and a dedicated Memory Care program designed for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other advanced dementia conditions. Medical oversight includes on-site wound care, tailored meal planning for special diets, and blood-sugar monitoring for diabetics who manage their condition with oral medications. Residents can also remain in place as their care needs change, thanks to the community’s continuing-care structure.
Around-the-clock clinical coverage is built into daily operations. Registered nurses and licensed practical nurses are on staff, with a nurse on call 24 hours a day. All team members undergo background checks, and an awake night shift monitors safety alongside a 24-hour security presence. Emergency pull cords and personal emergency response systems connect residents directly to staff. On-site medical services include hospice, dental care, podiatry, occupational and physical therapy, ambulatory and incontinence care, medication management, and resident-family counseling. Full assistance is available with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and staff can accommodate walkers, wheelchairs, and one-person transfers. An enclosed courtyard supports safe outdoor access for Memory Care residents.
Apartments vary in size and layout, with options that may feature balconies, terraces, private patios, or decks. Some units include full kitchens, bath tubs, or handicap-accessible designs, while others offer standard convenience features such as air conditioning, basic cable or satellite TV, internet access, and all utilities bundled into the monthly fee. Outdoor gardens, resident parking, and a TV lounge with a piano or organ are also available, but not every accommodation contains every feature listed.
The dining program provides three chef-prepared meals daily in a restaurant-style setting, with an all-day dining option for residents who prefer flexible schedules. Menus accommodate vegetarian choices, physician-ordered diets, and seasonal barbecues or courtyard picnics. Specialized nutritional oversight aligns with the community’s wound-healing protocols and diabetic-friendly offerings.
Recreational amenities include an activity center, arts studio, crafts workshops, a movie and theater room, library and computer lounge, fitness programs, swimming pool, water aerobics, Live Well programs, clubs and social communities, scheduled social outings, wine tastings, and a weekly happy hour. A transportation service is available for medical appointments and shopping trips, and residents can arrange additional rides through the concierge.
