Pennswood Village offers Independent Living and Memory Care, both supported by a wide range of clinical services. Residents with complex needs such as wandering in the morning or evening, exit-seeking, combative or other behavioral issues, insomnia, wound care requirements, oxygen therapy, and special diet orders are accepted. Diabetic management is available for those on oral medications, injections, or sliding-scale insulin. The Memory Care program is equipped to support advanced dementia conditions, giving families a place for loved ones whose needs exceed basic supervision.
Clinical oversight is continuous. Registered and licensed nurses are on the property at all times, an awake night shift monitors safety, and all team members undergo background checks. Emergency systems include pull cords, personal emergency response pendants, and secure Wander Guard technology. Full assistance can be provided with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting, and staff are trained for mobility support ranging from standby help with a walker to two-person or Hoyer-lift transfers for residents who are bed bound. On-site services extend to podiatry, and the community will coordinate care for residents with psychiatric diagnoses. An activity director develops structured programs throughout the day while 24-hour security staff keep exits monitored.
Living spaces in this assisted-living setting may offer a private bathroom, kitchenette, independent temperature controls, cable, and the option to repaint or decorate, though not every suite includes all of these features. Housekeeping, laundry, and monthly meal plans are provided for Independent Living residents, and medication management monitoring can be added if desired.
Meals are prepared daily with both set menus and on-order selections. Snacks are available between meals, and the culinary team manages physician-ordered diet modifications for diabetes, low-sodium needs, or other restrictions. Independent Living residents can choose the frequency of their meal plan while still accessing the same dining venues used by Assisted Living and Memory Care.
Amenities include resident parking, designated outdoor smoking areas, wheelchair-accessible common spaces, a barber and beauty shop, exercise room, movie room, wellness center, internet access, communal gardens, on-site religious services, and scheduled transportation with links to nearby public transit. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
