Elm Terrace Gardens provides Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care, with a clinical program that manages complex health needs. The community accepts residents who wander at any hour, attempt elopement, exhibit combative or other behavioral issues, or stay awake through the night. Nursing staff perform wound care, administer oxygen, and monitor special diets. Diabetes is managed at all levels—oral medications, injections, and sliding-scale insulin dosing. Mobility supports range from simple walker assistance to one- or two-person transfers, full Hoyer-lift moves, and care for bed-bound individuals, allowing residents to remain on campus even as physical needs change.
Staffing and safety systems are designed for continuous oversight. An RN or LPN is on site 24 hours a day, supported by an awake night shift and full security coverage. Pull-cord alerts, personal emergency response systems, door alarms, fenced outdoor areas, and WanderGuard bracelets help protect residents prone to wandering. Background-checked caregivers can give full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, while an on-site activity director and visiting podiatrist round out daily clinical and social support.
Accommodation options include suites with private bathrooms, some with kitchenettes, furnished layouts, individual climate controls, and cable service. Residents may paint or decorate to personalize their space. Because floor plans vary, not every unit contains every listed feature, so it is best to confirm specific details during a tour. Independent Living residents also receive medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, laundry service, and a monthly meal plan to support a low-maintenance lifestyle.
Dining offers both a set menu and on-order selections at each meal, with snacks available throughout the day. The culinary team modifies textures, portions, and ingredients to meet physician-ordered diets, including carbohydrate-controlled plates for diabetics and other special requests. Independent Living participants use their meal plan in the main dining room but may also prepare light snacks in their own kitchenettes if desired.
Residents have access to parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, an exercise room, movie room, wellness center, barber and beauty shop, internet access, communal gardens, and on-site religious services. Scheduled transportation, as well as proximity to public transit, makes off-site appointments or outings straightforward. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
