Avamere at Seaside offers two primary living options—Independent Living and Memory Care—allowing residents to select the level of day-to-day support they need while remaining in the same community. The Memory Care program is designed to assist individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia, pairing structured routines with a secured setting that promotes safety and familiarity.
Additional medical support complements these living options. The community accepts respite or short-term stays, which can benefit families needing temporary care coverage. Diabetes management is available, and on-site speech therapy supports residents with communication or swallowing difficulties. The secured environment helps protect residents prone to wandering, and a clinical team coordinates services such as incontinence care, ambulatory assistance, hospice care, medication management, as well as occupational and physical therapy. All care is delivered with attention to residents who may experience memory loss, ensuring continuity of support as needs change.
Apartments and suites vary but may include handicap and wheelchair-accessible showers, kitchenettes, cable or satellite television connections, Wi-Fi, and parking nearby. Some homes feature central fireplaces or access to common areas with a piano or additional fireplace, and several units are pet friendly. Outdoor areas, including landscaped walkways and locations such as the Midwest Village, Nicholas Conservatory & Anderson Gardens, provide spaces for relaxation. Not every unit contains every feature, so prospective residents are encouraged to verify specific accommodations during their tour.
Dining emphasizes balanced nutrition and flexibility. Three meals a day are prepared on site, with restaurant-style table service available. Residents can choose from all-day dining selections, and guest meals are offered for visiting family or friends. Specialized menus accommodate low or no-sodium diets and no-sugar options to help manage chronic conditions such as hypertension or diabetes.
Residents can stay active and engaged through an activity center, clubs and social communities, library and computer lounge, raised garden beds, happy hour gatherings, birthday celebrations, live music events, and organized social outings. For exercise, the property features indoor and outdoor walking paths and access to a swimming pool.
