Glenmoore Gracious Retirement Living is structured for residents who are medically stable and looking for an Independent Living environment; it does not provide dedicated dementia care or higher-level clinical services. Residents manage their own medications and health needs, but staff are on-site and can be reached at any time through an in-apartment pull-cord alert system for unscheduled assistance or emergencies.
Beyond the overall care type, staff can step in with self-care tasks such as bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting when a resident needs occasional support. Transfer assistance is available for people who use walkers or wheelchairs, helping them move safely in and out of chairs, beds, or the bathroom. An Activity Director oversees daily programs that encourage social interaction and physical activity, complementing residents’ healthcare routines.
Apartments are designed for privacy and practicality. Floor plans vary, and not every unit includes every feature, but options may include a private bathroom, kitchenette, independent temperature controls, cable service, and regular housekeeping. Housekeeping for Independent Living residents is included, and weekly laundry can be arranged as part of the service package.
Meals follow a set menu served three times a day in the main dining room, with snacks available between meals. A private dining room can be reserved for family visits or special occasions. Independent Living residents participate in a monthly meal plan that covers the majority of their dining needs while still allowing them to cook simple dishes in their own kitchenettes if they choose.
Residents have access to on-site parking, and the building is wheelchair accessible throughout. Additional conveniences include an exercise room, barber/beauty shop, movie room, internet access, and landscaped communal gardens. Scheduled transportation is offered for errands or medical appointments, and public transit stops are located nearby for those who prefer to travel independently. Smoking is limited to designated outdoor areas, and small pets are welcome; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
