Homestead of Del City offers three levels of residential care—Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care—within the same campus. Residents with complex needs can remain on site as care requirements change, including individuals living with advanced dementia, diabetes requiring injections, a history of elopement, combative or other behavioral issues, those who are awake throughout the night, and adults under 60 who need support. Each care level is supported by on-site nursing services to streamline medication management and daily health oversight.
Daily hands-on assistance is available for bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, with staff prepared to provide anything from standby help to a two-person or mechanical Hoyer lift for full transfers—even for residents who are bed-bound. A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on the premises, backed by a 24-hour nurse on call. The grounds include a fenced rear area, and each apartment has a pull-cord system that alerts staff. On-site providers cover occupational and physical therapy, podiatry, dentistry, hospice coordination, incontinence management, and ambulatory care, reducing the need for outside appointments and helping residents remain in familiar surroundings.
Private and semi-private apartments are available, some of which include cable service for personal entertainment; not every unit has identical features, so it is best to confirm specifics when touring. Layouts are designed for wheelchair access and close proximity to nurses and common areas to shorten response times during emergencies.
Dining follows an on-order model that lets residents choose meals at the time of service rather than relying solely on preset menus. This approach supports individualized nutrition plans, accommodates physician-ordered diets for diabetes or dysphagia, and enables flexible meal times for residents whose sleep patterns or medical treatments do not align with traditional schedules.
Community features include wheelchair-accessible common areas, a full-service barber and beauty shop, high-speed internet access, and an on-site storm shelter for weather safety. Scheduled transportation is available for medical appointments and personal errands. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
