Dorset Place – MC is a dedicated memory care community that concentrates on residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The community offers full-time Memory Care supported by structured programming as well as respite or short-term stays for families who need temporary coverage. Care plans are individualized, and licensed nurses coordinate closely with residents’ physicians to keep treatment goals current.
A secured layout and trained memory-care staff provide continual oversight. On-site clinical capabilities include medication management, diabetes monitoring, incontinence support, ambulatory assistance, hospice coordination, and therapies provided by physical, occupational, and speech therapists, plus podiatry services. The entire environment is designed specifically to accommodate memory loss, and a nurse is on duty to respond to changes in condition.
Residences are available in several floor plans with practical features such as wheelchair-accessible showers, individual climate control, cable or satellite TV, and Wi-Fi. Some units include access to outdoor areas, a view of the butterfly garden, or proximity to the central fireplace, and parking is available for those who still drive. The community is pet friendly, but not every apartment or personal circumstance can support an animal, so availability is confirmed case by case. Because floor plans differ, not all accommodations include every feature listed.
Dining is handled by a professional chef who prepares three daily meals plus snacks, with options adapted to low- or no-sodium and no-sugar guidelines. An all-day dining program lets residents choose mealtimes that suit personal routines, and guest meals are offered so family or friends can dine together with residents.
Daily life is supported by a full calendar of activities and services that include a library and computer lounge, clubs and special-interest groups, indoor walking paths, fitness and yoga sessions, swimming, karaoke, live music, dances, birthday parties, an activity center, social outings, reminiscence and sensory-based programs, and intergenerational events. These offerings aim to keep residents socially engaged and cognitively stimulated while providing safe opportunities for exercise and recreation.
