Clayton Westlake Senior Residences is structured primarily for independent living, so residents who can manage most activities on their own will find the environment well matched to their abilities. Staff members remain on-site around the clock to check on wellness, manage medications, schedule physician visits and provide basic clinical oversight. When residents need a hand with personal tasks, caregivers can step in to assist with bathing, dressing, eating and toileting, always encouraging the individual to perform as much of the task as possible to maintain independence. The community does not operate a separate memory-care program, and it is not designed for those with advanced dementia who require specialized supervision.
Beyond day-to-day personal assistance, the residence maintains an emergency response system in every living area, conducts routine blood-pressure and weight checks and coordinates on-site visits from physical or occupational therapists when ordered by a physician. Transportation is available for medical appointments, and staff can help arrange lab work or imaging through local providers. Short-term respite stays may be arranged when space allows, giving family caregivers a break while ensuring the resident has access to the same health monitoring and personal-care services as full-time occupants.
Living options range from studios to two-bedroom apartments. Housekeeping, laundry service, basic utilities and maintenance are included, and each unit comes with individual climate control and a private bathroom. Select floor plans add features such as step-in showers, in-unit washers and dryers, patios or full kitchenettes, though not all accommodations have every feature. Pets are allowed. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
Residents take their meals in a central dining room where breakfast, lunch and dinner are prepared daily by the culinary staff. Menus follow general nutrition guidelines for older adults and can be adjusted for low-sodium, diabetic or other physician-ordered diets. For those who prefer flexibility, a lighter café menu and healthy snacks are available throughout the day, and meals can be packed for take-away when appointments overlap dining hours. Special occasion dinners and themed lunches give residents additional variety without compromising dietary requirements.
