Kingston of Vermilion offers a dedicated Memory Care program designed for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. Licensed nurses are on-site around the clock to monitor vital signs, manage medications and coordinate with each resident’s physicians. Care plans are developed upon admission and adjusted as conditions change, ensuring that each individual receives the appropriate level of supervision, assistance with daily living tasks and behavioral support. On-site access to therapy services and regular cognitive assessments help staff track progression and respond quickly to medical needs.
Beyond clinical oversight, the community maintains secure living areas that limit wandering and support orientation, while an internal call-light system allows residents to summon help at any time. Structured daily schedules include small-group cognitive exercises, sensory stimulation sessions and guided physical activity, all intended to maintain function and reduce anxiety. Families are kept informed through routine care conferences and have the option to participate in training on dementia-related topics to better support their loved ones.
Accommodations are spread across three residential sections—Midwest Village, Nicholas Conservatory and Anderson Gardens—each offering a mix of private and companion suites. Rooms generally include step-in showers with grab bars, individual climate controls and emergency response pull cords, although not every suite includes all of these features. Common areas in each section provide space for social interaction, and secured outdoor courtyards allow residents to enjoy fresh air without leaving the monitored environment.
Meals are prepared in a central kitchen and served three times daily in the community dining room, with snacks available throughout the day. Menus emphasize familiar, easy-to-handle foods, and a dietitian oversees modifications for diabetic, low-sodium or other physician-ordered meal plans. Staff remain in the dining area to cue residents who need reminders to eat, monitor fluid intake and adjust portion sizes as required.
