The Inn at Northwood Village provides two primary levels of support—Assisted Living and Memory Care—allowing residents to choose the amount of daily help they need while remaining in the same community. Short-term respite stays are accepted, offering family caregivers temporary relief or time for recovery after hospitalization. Ongoing diabetes monitoring is available, and an on-site physician and speech therapist help manage complex or evolving medical conditions. These services are integrated into individualized care plans so that residents can receive the right balance of independence and clinical oversight.
The community is secured to protect residents who may be at risk of wandering and is built specifically to support people living with memory loss. Nurses oversee medication management, hospice care can be coordinated on-site, and practitioners in physical, occupational, and speech therapy work alongside a visiting podiatrist to address mobility and foot-care needs. Incontinence and ambulatory support are delivered discreetly, and the campus operates solely as a Memory Care and Assisted Living environment, which keeps staff training and facility design focused on these specialized populations.
Private and companion suites are offered, some with kitchenettes, Wi-Fi, cable or satellite TV, and air conditioning. Wheelchair-accessible showers, handicap-friendly layouts, and pet-friendly policies help residents stay comfortable, though not every unit includes every listed feature. Shared spaces such as the central fireplace lounge, piano alcove, and outdoor seating areas give residents additional places to relax or meet with family. Parking is available for residents and guests.
Dining is restaurant-style, with three daily meals included. Menus accommodate vegetarian preferences, low- or no-sodium requirements, and no-sugar diets, and guest meals can be arranged in advance. Trained staff monitor nutritional intake and adjust portions or textures as needed to reflect each resident’s care plan.
Residents can take advantage of an activity center, fitness programs, indoor and outdoor walking paths, yoga and chair-yoga classes, and a swimming pool. Live music, karaoke, dances, happy hours, clubs, and birthday celebrations provide regular social interaction, while reminiscence and sensory-based programs support cognitive engagement. Additional options include a library and computer lounge, raised garden beds, intergenerational visits, social outings around Dover, and a jacuzzi for relaxation.
