Home Place of New Bern offers two core living options. Residents who need day-to-day help with tasks such as bathing, dressing, or medication reminders can choose the assisted living program, while those living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia have access to a dedicated memory care setting designed to reduce confusion and promote familiarity. Both care types allow residents to remain on the same campus even if needs change.
Additional medical support is layered onto these services. A mental wellness program, diabetes management, and the option for respite or short-term stays are available. Nurses are on-site 12–16 hours a day, providing routine health checks, medication management, incontinence and ambulatory assistance, and specialized memory care oversight. The property is a secured community with controlled neighborhoods, limiting unmonitored entry or exit.
Residential accommodations include a choice of private or companion suites. Depending on the unit selected, features may include outdoor sitting areas, wheelchair-accessible showers, kitchenettes, phone connections, cable, Wi-Fi, and resident parking. A library and computer lounge offer additional space for reading or online access, and cats are welcome in designated areas. Because floor plans vary, not every accommodation includes every feature.
Dining follows an all-day service model. Residents can come to the dining room when it suits them and choose from standard or vegetarian selections. Meals are prepared on-site, and staff monitor nutritional intake for anyone with specialized dietary needs or physician-ordered restrictions.
An activity center supports daily programming, giving residents space for exercise classes, crafts, and group events coordinated by the life-enrichment team.
