Spring Arbor of Kinston offers two primary levels of residential care: Assisted Living and Memory Care. Residents who choose Assisted Living receive help with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and medication reminders while maintaining as much independence as possible. The Memory Care neighborhood is designed for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia and combines structured routines with purposeful activities to reduce confusion and promote engagement.
The community maintains a secured environment with a sprinkler system and provides 12–16-hour on-site nursing coverage. Medical and therapeutic services include diabetes management, respiratory therapy, hospice coordination, incontinence care, ambulatory assistance, and full medication management. Residents have access to an in-house team offering physical, occupational, and speech therapies, as well as regular visits from a dentist, podiatrist, and primary care physicians. Short-term respite stays are available, and a mental wellness program supports emotional health. Pet-focused programs round out the therapeutic offerings.
Apartments vary in layout and may feature kitchenettes, private phones, cable hookups, Wi-Fi access, and wheelchair-accessible showers. Some units are fully handicap-accessible, while others provide standard accessibility features; not all accommodations include every option. Residents can park on-site if they still drive, and several apartments are designated as pet-friendly. Common areas include outdoor patios, landscaped walking paths, and an indoor library and computer lounge that supports email, video calls, and other online connections.
Dining services aim to match different preferences and dietary requirements. Three chef-prepared meals and snacks are served daily, with menus accommodating physician-ordered or elective special diets. Meals may be presented family-style to encourage conversation or restaurant-style for table service, and a private dining room can be reserved for gatherings with relatives. Seasonal BBQs and picnics are scheduled when weather permits, giving residents the option to dine outdoors.
An on-site activity center hosts a full calendar that includes arts and crafts, bingo, trivia games, birthday parties, stretching classes, and structured exercise and fitness sessions. Residents can join clubs, reminiscence programs, and intergenerational activities that bring in local youth groups. Organized day trips and social outings extend engagement beyond the campus, while indoor and outdoor walking paths allow for daily movement close to home. Health and wellness programs run alongside these offerings to support overall stamina and cognition.
