Pruitt Health – Carolina Point is licensed for assisted living and is set up to manage residents with a wide range of clinical needs. Staff can accommodate people who wander during the day or night, present with exit-seeking or combative behaviors, remain awake overnight, or require close monitoring for behavioral issues. Nurses oversee wound care, oxygen therapy, pain management and special diets. Residents with diabetes are supported whether they take oral medication, injections, or follow a sliding-scale regimen. The building is not designated for specialized dementia care, but the team is practiced in redirecting and supervising residents whose safety may be at risk.
The facility keeps a registered or licensed nurse on site around the clock, with an additional nurse on call. Background checks are performed on employees, and the night shift is awake. Door alarms, wander guards, pull-cord systems and personal emergency response devices that can alert staff or dial 911 are in place. On-site services include speech therapy, occupational therapy, hospice coordination and routine laundry. Assistance with bathing, dressing, eating and toileting is available at the full-assistance level, and transfers can be handled with walkers, wheelchairs, standby help, one-person or two-person support, as well as for bed-bound residents.
Rooms are offered with a mix of features such as private bathrooms, basic furnishings, cable, individual climate controls and the option for residents to paint or decorate. Not every accommodation comes with every feature, so it is best to confirm availability during a tour.
Meals follow a set menu prepared to meet physician-ordered diets, with modifications available for issues such as diabetes, texture, sodium or calorie restrictions. Snacks are provided outside of scheduled dining times.
Resident parking, outdoor smoking areas, pet acceptance, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, wellness center, internet access, communal gardens and on-site religious services are all part of the campus. Scheduled transportation is offered, and the building is close to public transit. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
