Williams Place offers Independent Living with supports specifically designed for residents who have mild dementia conditions. Access to an on-site therapy room allows physicians, therapists, and visiting clinicians to deliver rehabilitative or maintenance therapies without residents leaving the property. Staff members are trained to assist with self-care tasks such as bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting, providing help only when and where it is needed to preserve personal independence.
To back up those clinical services, the community maintains 24-hour staffing and security coverage so assistance is always close by. An Activity Director coordinates daily cognitive and social programs, which can be adjusted for residents coping with memory changes. Emergency response systems are integrated throughout the building, and care plans are reviewed regularly with families to ensure services remain aligned with each resident’s evolving needs.
Apartments vary in configuration, and not all units have every feature, but many include a private bathroom, walk-in shower, independent temperature controls, cable hookups, and the option for residents to paint or otherwise personalize the space. Routine housekeeping and scheduled laundry are included, and Independent Living residents can opt into lighter versions of these services if they prefer to handle some tasks themselves.
Meals are served from a set menu in the community dining room, with snacks available at multiple locations throughout the day. The culinary team can modify textures, portion sizes, or ingredient selections to accommodate physician-ordered diets and personal preferences. Independent Living residents can take advantage of the main dining program or prepare light fare in their apartments while still having housekeeping and laundry support available.
Additional amenities include resident parking, walking paths along the lakeside grounds, gardening areas, an exercise room with instructor-led classes, a movie room, library, billiards and card lounge, barber and beauty shop, internet access, inside mailboxes with newspaper delivery, special-interest clubs, an all-day coffee and snack bar, and a 24/7 fruit bar. A guest apartment can be reserved for visiting family members, and live-in managers are on call for after-hours concerns. Transportation is available for medical appointments and shopping trips. Pets are allowed, and it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
