Tyrrell House provides two levels of residential support: Assisted Living for residents who need help with daily activities and a dedicated Memory Care program for those living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. The community’s Memory Care wing is designed for higher clinical oversight, with staff trained in dementia‐specific techniques and routines that reduce confusion and promote safety. Licensed nursing personnel monitor resident health, coordinate with outside physicians, and manage medication schedules to keep care consistent and responsive.
Beyond the clinical components, Tyrrell House offers individualized assistance with bathing, dressing, mobility, continence, and other personal needs. Staff are on-site 24 hours a day to answer call systems, perform safety checks, and provide escort services around the building. Scheduled transportation to medical appointments, housekeeping, laundry, and basic maintenance are included to lighten the day-to-day load on residents and families.
Residences vary in layout and come either furnished or unfurnished depending on preference, allowing residents to bring personal items or move in quickly. Common spaces include a library and computer lounge for quiet reading or internet use, along with secure outdoor areas where residents can sit, garden, or walk. Because unit features differ by floor plan, not all accommodations include every amenity listed by the community.
Dining is offered throughout the day so residents can choose mealtimes that match their routines. The culinary team prepares three daily meals plus snacks and accommodates physician-ordered or resident-requested nutrition plans, including low-sodium, diabetic, and other specialty diets. Staff oversee each meal service to ensure residents receive the correct diet and adequate hydration.
An on-site activity center serves as the hub for group programs such as exercise classes, arts and crafts, and social events. The life-enrichment team schedules daily activities that align with resident interests and cognitive abilities, encouraging engagement and maintaining physical and mental function.
