A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on site, and a nurse is on call around the clock to address changes in condition, administer medications or coordinate outside providers. The community can manage wound care and is staffed to assist residents who are up all night, helping ensure sleep issues or late-night wandering are handled safely. Care teams are trained to work with moderate dementia and follow protocols that align with physician orders and family directives.
Additional safety measures include routine background checks for employees, an awake night shift, and 24-hour security staff. Residents wear personal emergency response systems or use in-room pull cords that alert staff immediately; a WanderGuard system is in place for anyone at risk of exit seeking. An on-staff activity director oversees daily programming, and visiting podiatry services are available on site. For personal care, staff can provide some physical help with bathing and dressing, standby supervision for eating, and full assistance with toileting. Transfer support ranges from supervision to hands-on help with a walker or wheelchair.
Suites are available in several layouts. Many have a private bathroom, basic furnishings, independent temperature controls, cable service, and the option to paint or decorate the room, although not every unit includes every feature. Residents can add personal items as space allows to create a familiar environment.
Meals are prepared three times a day with an on-order option at each seating so residents can choose from several entrées. Snacks are available throughout the day, and the kitchen can accommodate physician-ordered diets as well as routine preference modifications and texture adjustments.
The community offers resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, outdoor smoking areas, and transportation for medical appointments or errands. Amenities include an on-site barber and beauty shop, internet access, communal gardens, and scheduled religious services.
