MorningStar Memory Care at North Ridge is licensed as an assisted living community but is built exclusively for residents with memory loss. Care plans can accommodate a wide range of medical needs, including residents who wander, have elopement risk, display combative or other behavioral issues, or are awake throughout the night. Clinical support covers diabetes management on injections, oral medications, or sliding-scale dosing; oxygen therapy; wound care; and special diets ordered by a physician. Short-term respite stays are accepted, and residents younger than 60 can be considered case-by-case.
The building is fully secured, and all care is delivered within a memory-care-only environment designed to limit confusion and enhance safety. A licensed nurse oversees medication management, incontinence care, and hospice coordination. On-site medical professionals include a dentist, podiatrist, optometrist, physical, occupational, and speech therapists, ensuring most routine services can be done without leaving the property. A therapy room supports rehabilitation goals, and ambulatory care is available for those who need gait training or mobility monitoring.
Apartments are available furnished or unfurnished, letting residents bring personal items or start fresh; not every unit has every feature, so families can choose according to need and budget. Options include private bathrooms, wheelchair-accessible showers, individual climate controls, cable hookups, and the ability to paint or decorate. Outdoor sitting areas are attached to some rooms, and housekeeping is provided. Laundry can be done in-unit when washers are present, or scheduled laundry service can be arranged.
Three daily meals follow a set menu, with an all-day dining window for flexible timing. Snacks are always available, and the kitchen can prepare vegetarian, kosher, gluten-free, low-sodium, or no-sugar meals per physician order. Residents who need diet modifications receive them under staff supervision. A private dining room is reserved for family visits, and guest meals can be purchased at the front desk.
Residents have access to an activity center, library and computer lounge, and organized clubs. Indoor and outdoor walking paths support routine exercise, and residents are allowed outdoors under staff observation. Programming includes chair yoga, reminiscence sessions, live-music events, and off-site social outings. A swimming pool is available for therapeutic or recreational use.
