The Birches at Concord is a memory-care-only community that accepts residents with all stages of dementia, including advanced conditions. Clinical protocols are in place for residents who wander or are at risk for elopement, who exhibit behavioral concerns, who are up throughout the night, or who require specialized diets. The team is prepared to care for adults under 60 as well as residents managing diabetes—whether controlled by oral medication, injections, or sliding-scale insulin.
Registered and licensed nurses are on staff, with an RN available on-call around the clock, and every overnight shift is staffed by awake personnel. Background-checked caregivers provide medication management, incontinence and ambulatory care, hospice coordination, and therapy services from on-site occupational, physical, and podiatry professionals. Emergency pull cords and personal emergency response systems connect directly to staff, while secured doors, perimeter fencing, and door alarms add additional safety. Residents can receive full assistance with bathing, dressing, and toileting, some help with eating, and transfers ranging from standby to a full Hoyer lift when needed.
Apartment options include units with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, cable hookups, wheelchair-accessible layouts, and, in select residences, a dishwasher and disposal. Housekeeping and scheduled laundry services are standard, but not every apartment contains every listed feature.
Dining offers a set daily menu as well as made-to-order choices. Snacks are available throughout the day, meals can be delivered to the apartment, and a private dining room is reserved for family visits. Therapeutic diet modifications are accommodated by the culinary team.
Residents have access to parking, a barber and beauty salon, an exercise room, a wellness center, internet access, communal gardens, concierge assistance, a library, special-interest clubs, lounges, patios, a recreation room, and scheduled transportation for appointments and outings.
