Waterford at Wilderness Hills is structured exclusively for memory care, serving residents who live with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, including advanced stages. The team is prepared to manage wandering behaviors morning and evening, elopement risk, combativeness, behavioral concerns, and residents who stay up all night. Clinical protocols cover oxygen use, special diet requirements, and diabetes care whether residents use oral medication, insulin injections, or sliding-scale dosing. The community also accepts adults under the age of 60 when memory support is needed.
Registered and licensed nurses are on-site 24 hours a day, supported by an awake night shift and routine background checks for all staff. Doors are alarmed and the rear grounds are fully fenced to reduce exit-seeking. A consulting podiatrist visits regularly, and nurses coordinate additional medical providers as required. The staff offers full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and can perform transfers ranging from standby help to two-person or bed-bound moves, using walkers or wheelchairs as appropriate.
Resident apartments vary, but most have a private bathroom and come furnished; families may bring personal items or repaint and decorate to suit individual preferences. Cable service is available in many units, though not every accommodation includes every feature.
Meals are cooked to order, and snacks are available throughout the day. The kitchen team follows physician-prescribed diet modifications such as low-sodium, mechanical soft, or diabetic menus.
Shared amenities include wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, internet access, landscaped communal gardens, and on-site religious services. Scheduled transportation is offered for medical appointments and local outings.
