The Boulevard St. Charles is an assisted-living community that accepts residents with a wide range of medical needs. Care teams are trained to manage residents who wander during the day or night, those at risk for elopement, and individuals living with advanced dementia. The staff delivers wound care, oxygen therapy, and diabetes support that includes both injections and sliding-scale monitoring. Younger adults under 60 who require an assisted-living setting are also eligible for admission.
Registered nurses and licensed practical nurses are on site around the clock, backed by an awake night shift and a full activity program. All employees undergo background checks, and a fenced frontage, pull-cord alerts, and personal emergency response systems add additional layers of security. On-site clinical services include memory care, incontinence care, ambulatory support, hospice coordination, medication management, and visits from occupational, physical, and massage therapists as well as a podiatrist. Residents can receive full assistance with bathing, eating, and dressing; toileting remains self-care unless needs change. Transfers are accommodated for walkers, wheelchairs, and one- or two-person assists.
Most apartments feature a private bathroom, kitchenette, independent temperature controls, cable access, and the option to paint or decorate, though individual layouts vary and not every unit contains every feature. Rooms are designed for easy navigation and can be adapted to accommodate increasing mobility or equipment needs.
Meals are ordered from a menu at each sitting, and the culinary team provides physician-directed diet modifications and ongoing nutrition management. Independent-living residents have access to weekly housekeeping, personal laundry service, and a monthly meal plan that can be adjusted to match their social calendars.
Residents have use of on-site parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, an exercise room, a movie room, a wellness center, internet access, communal gardens, regular religious services, and scheduled transportation for errands or medical appointments. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
