John Knox Village East offers three levels of residence—Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care—so residents can choose the support that matches their current needs and transition to higher levels of care without leaving the campus. Short-term respite stays are available for recovery after illness or surgery, and specialized Memory Care programming serves individuals living with dementia. Physical therapy, diabetes management, and regular physician oversight are built into daily routines, and a speech therapist is on call for residents who need communication or swallowing support.
The secured community is staffed around the clock by licensed nurses and caregivers who handle medication management, incontinence support, and ambulatory assistance. On-site services include occupational and physical therapy, podiatry visits, hospice coordination, and family counseling. Because the campus also offers continuing care, residents who start in Independent or Assisted Living can move to higher acuity Memory Care without disrupting established relationships with staff and providers.
Accommodations range from studio and efficiency layouts to units with kitchenettes, balconies, or patios. Some suites come fully furnished, while others allow residents to bring their own furnishings. Wheelchair-accessible showers, handicap-friendly features, and air conditioning are standard, and housekeeping plus utilities are included in the monthly fee. While many apartments offer perks such as outdoor deck access, computer or media space, or proximity to the billiards lounge and library, not every unit includes every feature.
Dining is designed for flexibility and health. Residents can choose all-day dining or join scheduled family-style meals in the main dining room, and guests can be accommodated with advance notice. Menus include low-sodium and no-sugar options, and private dining space is available for celebrations. Nutrition staff coordinate closely with clinical teams to make sure dietary plans align with medical needs, including diabetes and swallowing considerations.
Beyond basic services, the campus provides an activity center, fitness center, and indoor walking paths, with organized water aerobics in the pool and live-well education programs led by guest speakers. Residents can join social outings, community service events, and off-site activities, and on-site celebrations cover birthdays, holidays, and dances.
