The Villa at Riverwood provides an Independent Living setting with the option of short-term respite stays. Residents have access to a speech therapist and support for mild dementia conditions. On-site medical resources include scheduled podiatry and audiology visits as well as a therapy room for rehabilitation or strength-building exercises. Staff can assist with bathing, dressing and toileting on a standby-supervision basis, while residents who are able to manage meals independently receive only minimal oversight. Transfer help is available for those who use walkers or wheelchairs, allowing residents to move safely throughout the community.

Additional safeguards begin with pre-employment background checks and continue with an activity director who coordinates daily schedules that keep residents engaged. The building is staffed around the clock, is secured by perimeter fencing at the rear, and each apartment is equipped with a pull-cord that alerts staff if immediate help is needed. These measures combine to offer a predictable level of oversight without limiting the independence the community is designed to provide.

Apartments are available in several layouts; not every unit includes every feature, but options can include a private bathroom, kitchenette, individual heating and cooling controls, and cable service. Weekly housekeeping and scheduled laundry are provided, and Independent Living residents can choose additional linen changes or as-needed services for a fee. Medication-management monitoring, basic housekeeping, laundry and a monthly meal plan are bundled into the Independent Living service package so residents know exactly what support to expect.

Dining operates with both set menus and on-order choices at each meal, and snacks are available outside scheduled dining times. The monthly meal plan covers the main dining room service, but residents with kitchenettes may prepare their own meals whenever they wish. Special dietary requests can be accommodated within the standard program.

Community amenities include resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, an exercise room, wellness center, barber and beauty shop, movie room, library, communal gardens and internet access. Clubs meet regularly for special interests, and on-site religious services are scheduled each week. Concierge services help with appointments, while scheduled transportation is offered for medical visits and local errands via a community shuttle. Smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas, and pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
