Cardigan Ridge offers three levels of residency—Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care—so residents can remain on the same campus as their needs change. The community is equipped to manage residents who wander during the day or night, have elopement risk, demonstrate combative or other behavioral challenges, or need close monitoring because they are up throughout the night. Clinical capabilities cover wound care, oxygen management, specialized diets, and diabetic care that ranges from oral medications to injections and sliding-scale insulin. Advanced dementia conditions are supported, and care staff are trained to provide full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and all transfer needs, including one-person, two-person, and Hoyer lift transfers for bed-bound residents.
Resident safety is reinforced by an RN or LPN on staff, an on-call nurse 24/7, and an awake night shift. Personal Emergency Response Systems link directly to on-site personnel, and every employee undergoes background checks. A dedicated activity director coordinates therapeutic programming, while visiting podiatry rounds add a layer of on-site medical oversight. Security measures, monitoring for wandering, and the ability to handle behavioral escalation allow families to feel confident about their loved one’s day-to-day supervision.
Studio and one-bedroom apartments can include a private bathroom, kitchenette, independent temperature controls, and cable service; however, not every unit contains every feature, so prospective residents should confirm what is available in the specific apartment they are considering. Residents may paint or decorate their living space to suit personal tastes. Dining operates on a set menu with snacks always available, and the kitchen team adjusts textures and nutrients for diabetic, cardiac, or other special diets. Independent Living residents receive weekly housekeeping and may opt for a monthly meal plan if they prefer fewer cooking responsibilities.
Meals are served restaurant-style in the main dining room, while smaller common areas accommodate those who benefit from reduced stimulation. Staff are trained to provide full assistance at mealtimes when needed, from setting up adaptive utensils to hand-over-hand guidance. Hydration stations are placed throughout the building, and nutritional intake is monitored for residents with weight-management or medication-interaction concerns.
The campus offers resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common spaces, and scheduled transportation, with public transit stops nearby for added convenience. Amenities include a barber and beauty shop, exercise room, movie room, wellness center with internet access, library, craft room, woodshop, and communal gardens that connect to an outdoor deck with a screened-in porch. On-site religious services are held regularly, and pets are allowed. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
