The Retreat Southgate delivers three levels of long-term care—Assisted Living, Residential Care Home services, and Memory Care. Residents who need help with daily activities receive structured support, and those living with cognitive decline benefit from a secure setting designed to reduce confusion and encourage safe engagement. Care plans are individualized and overseen by licensed clinical staff to ensure that medical needs remain the top priority.
Clinical oversight addresses a wide range of health concerns. The community accepts residents who wander during the day or night, may attempt elopement, present behavioral issues, need wound care, use oxygen, follow special diets, are under 60 years old, or manage diabetes with oral medication. A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is on staff, with a nurse on call around the clock. Caregivers are awake overnight, all employees undergo background checks, and pull-cord call systems bring immediate assistance. On-site podiatry is available, and full help can be provided with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting. Mobility support ranges from standby supervision with walkers to one- or two-person transfers and bed-bound care, including wheelchair assistance, so residents can remain at the appropriate level of independence while staying safe.
Private and semi-private rooms are offered, and many come furnished to reduce move-in stress, although residents may bring personal items if they prefer. Cable service is available in select units and housekeeping keeps living spaces clean. Because not every accommodation has every feature, prospective residents should verify which options are included in the specific room they are considering.
Meals follow a set menu prepared to accommodate physician-ordered diet modifications, including diabetic and other specialized plans. Three daily meals are served in the communal dining room, and snacks are available throughout the day. For those who are ill or prefer privacy, in-room dining can be arranged, and staff provide full assistance at mealtimes when needed to ensure adequate nutrition.
Residents have access to on-site parking, outdoor smoking areas, and barrier-free common spaces for wheelchairs. Shared amenities include a movie room, high-speed internet, landscaped communal gardens, a library, and regular on-site religious services.
