Shorepointe Nursing Center in Saint Clair Shores provides licensed nursing-home care with 24-hour registered-nurse coverage for both short-term rehabilitation and long-term residency. The clinical team manages complex medical needs such as post-surgical recovery, IV therapies, wound care, tracheostomy care, medication administration and continual monitoring of vital signs. Physicians round regularly, orders are updated in real time through electronic health records and onsite lab and diagnostic services limit the need for outside appointments.
Ancillary clinical services supplement the nursing program. Physical, occupational and speech therapists deliver treatments seven days a week, and a respiratory therapist is available for residents with pulmonary conditions. Pain management protocols, diabetic education, hospice coordination and respite stays are offered, and licensed social workers help with discharge planning or transitions. A secured unit is available for residents who require added safety monitoring due to cognitive decline.
Resident rooms are offered in both private and semi-private layouts, each equipped with safety-oriented bathrooms, emergency call systems, individual climate controls and optional cable and Wi-Fi; not every room includes every feature. Outside, residents can use landscaped areas referred to as Midwest Village, Nicholas Conservatory and Anderson Gardens for walks, seasonal activities or quiet visits with family.
Meals are prepared under the guidance of a registered dietitian, with menus that meet therapeutic diets such as low-sodium, renal or mechanically altered textures. Three meals and scheduled snacks are served daily in a central dining room, and tray service is available for residents who are unable to leave their rooms. Adaptive utensils, hydration stations and staff assistance during mealtimes support those with limited dexterity or swallowing challenges, and menu reviews are held regularly to incorporate resident feedback.
