Clark at Keller Lake in Grand Rapids provides Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care, allowing residents to transition between levels of support without moving to a new community. The team is prepared to manage wandering in the morning or evening, elopement risk, combative or other behavioral issues, sleep reversal, complex wound care, oxygen therapy, special diets, diabetes management by oral medication, injections, or sliding scale, and the needs of residents under 60. Care plans are adjusted to meet the progression of advanced dementia so residents can remain on campus even as conditions change.
Daily care is backed by an RN or LPN on staff with a nurse on‐call around the clock. Staff members are background-checked, work overnight while awake, and respond to pull cords or wearable PERS devices. The property is fenced front and rear, doors are alarmed, and 24-hour security staffing reduces elopement risk. A credentialed activity director schedules programming seven days a week, and a podiatrist visits on site for routine foot care. Team members can provide full assistance with bathing, dressing, and toileting, some help with eating, and all levels of transfer—including Hoyer lift or bed-bound support.
Apartments vary; not every unit includes every feature. Available options can include a private bathroom, kitchenette, independent temperature controls, cable service, the ability to paint or decorate, in-unit housekeeping, and in-unit laundry. Independent Living residents receive periodic housekeeping and can add or remove services as needed.
Dining follows a set menu with on-order alternatives, snacks at any time, and in-room or private dining when preferred. Therapeutic diets such as gluten-free, vegetarian, mechanical-chop, puree, and thickened liquids are prepared under dietitian oversight. Independent Living residents participate in a monthly meal plan but may still cook in their own kitchenette if they choose.
Residents have access to parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber/beauty shop, exercise room, internet, communal gardens, on-site religious services, concierge desk, library, and scheduled transportation for medical appointments. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
