The Sugarbush House 5 is licensed as a residential care home and is equipped to manage complex medical needs. Residents who require wound care, oxygen therapy, specialized diets, or diabetic management—whether by oral medication, injections, or sliding-scale protocols—can be treated on site. The team is also experienced in supporting adults under 60 and individuals living with advanced dementia, offering continuity of care as conditions progress.
A nurse is on call 24 hours a day, and all employees undergo background checks before working in the community. Security and direct-care staff are present around the clock. On-site services include hospice support, memory care programming, high-acuity and non-ambulatory care, medication management, and regular visits from nurses, occupational and physical therapists, and a podiatrist. Hands-on help is available for bathing, dressing, and toileting at the full-assistance level, and mealtime support is provided when some physical assistance is needed. Transfer options range from standby supervision and one-person assists to full Hoyer-lift transfers for bed-bound residents.
Private and shared rooms are offered, though not every accommodation contains the same features. Cable service is available in select rooms, and each space is designed to allow for wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility devices. Bathrooms are fitted with grab bars and non-slip flooring, and housekeeping handles routine cleaning and linen changes.
Meals are prepared in house, with residents choosing from a daily set menu or ordering specific dishes when needed. Snacks are available throughout the day, and staff can serve meals in the dining room or in residents’ rooms. Therapeutic diets, carbohydrate counting, and texture modifications are planned by the care team to align with each physician’s orders. Independent-living residents who elect the community’s service package receive medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, laundry service, and a monthly meal plan while still maintaining their personal schedules.
Common areas are wheelchair accessible and include a small movie room, reliable internet access, and a communal garden space that doubles as an outdoor gathering area for visits or light exercise.
