The Woodlands of Dewitt provides three levels of residential care—Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care—with clinical capabilities that accommodate a wide range of health needs. Residents with wandering tendencies at any time of day, a history of elopement, or behavioral challenges such as combativeness or sleeplessness are accepted, and the community is prepared for advanced dementia conditions. Nursing staff can monitor and support complex medical regimens, including wound care, oxygen therapy, specialized diets, and blood-glucose management whether by oral medications, scheduled injections, or sliding-scale insulin. Adults under 60 who need supportive housing can also be served, allowing couples or younger residents with chronic conditions to remain in a single setting.
Direct care is reinforced by 24-hour on-call nursing, an awake night shift, and background-checked personnel. The building uses door alarms, pull-cord systems, and personal emergency response pendants to notify staff quickly, while a fenced rear area lets residents enjoy the outdoors with reduced elopement risk. An activity director coordinates daily programming, and podiatry consults are available on site. For daily living tasks, aides can provide full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting. Mobility support ranges from standby help for walkers to two-person or full Hoyer-lift transfers, and bed-bound residents can be managed in place.
Apartments include options such as private bathrooms, kitchenettes, individual climate controls, and cable service, although not every unit has every feature. Independent Living and Assisted Living residents choose layouts based on need and budget, and Memory Care rooms are simplified for safety. Dining offers both a set menu and on-order selections, with snacks and physician-ordered diet modifications always available. Independent Living residents may elect a monthly meal plan that bundles a certain number of meals per day into their rent, while still permitting cooking in their own kitchenette if they prefer.
Residents have access to on-site parking, outdoor smoking areas, and wheelchair-accessible common spaces. Personal pets are welcome within policy limits—it's a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed. Amenities include a barber and beauty shop, exercise room, movie room, wellness center, internet access, and regular religious services. An on-site physician conducts routine visits, and scheduled transportation helps residents reach off-site appointments or shopping destinations.
