The Arbors at Taunton delivers three levels of residential care—Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care—with the clinical capabilities to manage a wide range of health needs. Staff are prepared for residents who wander at any time of day, present elopement risk, exhibit combative or other behavioral issues, stay awake at night, or live with moderate dementia. Medical oversight extends to wound care, oxygen therapy, special-diet management, and diabetes support for oral medications, injections, or sliding-scale insulin. The community also accepts residents under 60 years old when clinically appropriate.
Round-the-clock clinical coverage is anchored by an RN/LPN team on site and a nurse on call 24 hours a day. All employees undergo background checks, and both awake and asleep night-shift staffing are standard. Safety measures include fenced outdoor areas, door alarms, wander-guard systems, pull-cords linked directly to 911, and optional personal emergency response systems. On-site providers visit regularly for podiatry, audiology, dental care, therapy services, and psychiatric consultations. Caregivers can supply full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and can manage transfers ranging from simple standby help to two-person or Hoyer-lift moves for bed-bound residents.
Accommodations range from studios to larger apartments, some with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, furnished layouts, cable service, or the option to paint and decorate. Housekeeping and scheduled laundry are included, though individual apartments may not feature every listed amenity. Independent Living residents receive medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, laundry service, and a monthly meal plan designed for those who want autonomy with added oversight.
Meals follow a set menu that rotates to meet nutritional guidelines, and snacks are available throughout the day. The culinary team manages physician-ordered diets, including gluten-free and mechanical-chopped textures, and can incorporate the special diets noted in each care plan. A private dining room is available for family gatherings, and staff monitor intake for residents who require supervision or full assistance with eating.
Residents have access to on-site parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber/beauty shop, exercise room, movie room, wellness center, internet connectivity, communal gardens, library, concierge services, special-interest clubs, and regularly scheduled religious services. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed. Transportation options include a community shuttle for medical appointments, a town car service, and proximity to public transit for those who prefer independent travel.
