CareOne at Sharon offers three primary levels of care—Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care—allowing residents to step up or down in services without changing communities. The Memory Care program is designed for people with mild to moderate dementia and includes structured routines and secure spaces that reduce the risk of wandering or elopement while sustaining cognitive function. Independent Living residents can remain largely self-directed but still have access to on-site medical oversight and emergency response, while Assisted Living residents receive daily help with personal care tasks and access to licensed nursing support around the clock.
Medical services are comprehensive. Nurses are on site or on call 24 hours a day, and all direct-care staff undergo background checks, work awake night shifts, and are trained to manage behaviors such as combative episodes, nighttime wakefulness, and elopement risks. Staff can provide full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, as well as manage wound care, oxygen therapy, special diets, and diabetes treated with oral medication. Transfer help ranges from standby supervision to two-person assistance for wheelchair users. Exterior doors are alarmed, the rear yard is fenced, and residents wear personal emergency response systems that can alert staff or dial 911. A visiting podiatrist rounds on site, reducing the need for off-site appointments.
Apartments vary in size and layout, and not every unit has every feature, but options include private bathrooms, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, cable hookups, and permission to paint or decorate. Residents who use mobility devices will find the floor plans laid out for easy navigation. Housekeeping staff clean apartments regularly, and laundry service is available for both personal items and linens.
Meals are served three times a day in the dining room on a set menu, with an alternate “on-order” option for those who prefer something different. Snacks are available between meals, and the kitchen accommodates physician-ordered or resident-requested diet modifications, including diabetic, heart-healthy, and mechanical-soft plans. Independent Living residents can sign up for a monthly meal plan, plus medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, and laundry services as part of their lease, giving them flexibility to add or drop assistance as needed.
Residents have access to on-site parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, exercise room, movie room, wellness center, and high-speed internet. Outdoor communal gardens and a stair glide to upper levels add to the ease of movement throughout the property. Transportation for medical appointments and shopping is available, and the community sits close to public transit. Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas, and pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
