The Willows at Whitney Place offers Assisted Living, Independent Living and Memory Care on the same campus so residents can step up or down in support without relocating. Clinical staff are prepared to manage residents who wander during the day or night, demonstrate exit-seeking or combative behaviors, have other psychiatric or behavioral needs, stay awake overnight, require special diets, are younger than 60, or control diabetes with oral medications. The community is also equipped to care for residents living with advanced dementia, ensuring continuity of care as cognitive needs progress.
Registered nurses and licensed practical nurses are on staff, with a nurse on call 24 hours a day. Caregivers remain awake on the night shift, background checks are completed for all employees, and the building is protected by 24-hour security, fenced outdoor space, alarmed doors, pull cords in residences and a PERS system that connects directly to 911. On-site podiatry is available, and the community accepts residents with psychiatric diagnoses. Caregivers can provide full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing and toileting, and they can accommodate mobility needs ranging from standby help with a walker to two-person transfers, Hoyer lift transfers and bed-bound care.
Apartments are offered in several layouts, some with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, independent temperature controls, cable service and the option to paint or decorate the space. Because floor plans vary, not every accommodation includes all of these features. Residents order meals from menus rather than fixed trays, and snacks are available throughout the day. The culinary team follows physician-ordered diet modifications and can manage complex dietary requirements.
Independent Living residents have access to the same dining program through a monthly meal plan and also receive medication-management monitoring as needed. Weekly housekeeping and laundry service are provided so tenants can focus on social and wellness activities.
The campus includes resident parking, wheelchair-accessible common areas, a barber and beauty shop, exercise room, movie room, wellness center, internet access, communal gardens, on-site religious services and scheduled transportation for errands or appointments. Outdoor smoking areas are designated, and pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
