The Herrick House provides both Assisted Living and Memory Care, allowing residents to remain on one campus as their needs change. Staff members are trained to support individuals who wander during the day or night, attempt to leave the building, experience behavioral concerns, or live with advanced dementia. Medical oversight includes wound care, oxygen management, specialized diets, and full support for residents with diabetes—whether on oral medications, injections, or a sliding-scale regimen. Care is also available for adults under 60 who require an assisted living setting.
Registered nurses or licensed practical nurses are on site around the clock, with an additional nurse on call 24/7. An awake night shift, door alarms, fenced exterior areas, personal emergency response systems, and pull-cord alerts add safety layers. On-site podiatry, audiology, and a therapy room reduce the need for outside appointments. Residents who need full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, or toileting receive hands-on help, and the team can manage transfers ranging from walker standby to two-person or Hoyer-lift moves.
Apartments offer options such as private bathrooms, kitchenettes, furnished setups, individual climate controls, cable service, and the freedom to paint or decorate, though not every unit includes every feature. The community supplies housekeeping and scheduled laundry, and Independent Living residents can elect medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, laundry, and a monthly meal plan while maintaining more self-direction.
Dining services include a rotating set menu, the ability to order off-menu items, all-day snacks, room-service delivery, and a private dining room for family events. Therapeutic diets and texture modifications are prepared under clinical oversight to meet medical or cultural needs.
Amenities include resident parking, outdoor smoking areas, pet-friendly policies, full wheelchair accessibility, a barber and beauty shop, exercise room, wellness center, internet access, communal gardens, on-site religious services, concierge assistance, a library, special-interest clubs, scheduled transportation, and proximity to public transit. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
