ROCKVILLE COMFORT CARE, now under renovation, delivers both Assisted Living and Residential Care Home levels of service. The staff accepts residents who wander during the day or night, have a history of elopement, require wound care, use oxygen, follow physician-ordered special diets, or manage diabetes with oral medications or on a sliding-scale insulin program. Mild dementia is supported through consistent routines and safety measures.
The community keeps an RN or LPN on staff and a nurse on call around the clock. All employees undergo background checks, and the building maintains 24-hour staffing, door alarms, a fenced rear area, and pull-cord alerts in rooms. A visiting podiatrist provides on-site foot care. Direct assistance is available for bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting, and transfer help ranges from standby supervision to two-person or bed-bound lifts to accommodate walkers and wheelchairs. A night shift is on duty even when residents are asleep to respond immediately to any alert.
Private and semiprivate rooms come furnished, and residents may bring décor or choose paint colors when renovations are complete. Some—but not all—rooms include cable service. Each unit is kept accessible for wheelchairs and walkers, and maintenance is provided by the community.
Meals follow a set menu prepared to physician or dietitian specifications, with snacks offered between meals and modifications for low-sodium, diabetic, or other special diets. Independent-living residents on campus can opt for medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, laundry service, and a monthly meal plan without enrolling in full Assisted Living.
Resident parking is available, the grounds are wheelchair accessible, and smokers have a designated outdoor area. Internet access is provided in common areas and rooms where infrastructure permits. Scheduled transportation is offered, and the property sits close to public bus and rail lines for family visits or resident outings.
