The Meadows of Reisterstown I & II operate exclusively as assisted-living communities. Residents receive help with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility and other activities of daily living, and the amount of assistance is adjusted as care needs change. Each resident has an individualized service plan created in consultation with family, physicians and the on-site care team, ensuring that support matches current abilities without limiting independence.
Medical oversight is continuous. Licensed nurses are on site or on call around the clock to perform health assessments, handle medication administration and respond to emergencies. Staff coordinate directly with physicians, pharmacists and therapists, arrange lab work and diagnostic visits when needed, and keep detailed health records for smooth communication among providers. Physical, occupational and speech therapy sessions can be scheduled on campus, and transportation is arranged for off-site specialist appointments and hospital follow-ups.
Apartments and companion suites are available in several floor plans, and each living space is equipped with basic safety features such as grab bars and emergency call systems. Some units include extras like private balconies, patios or decks, while others offer a central fireplace view, piano accessibility or direct access to outdoor sitting areas. All accommodations are climate-controlled, handicap accessible and pet friendly, but not every residence has every listed feature, so prospective residents should verify unit specifics during a tour. Parking is provided for residents who still drive and for visiting family members.
Meals are prepared on site and served three times daily in a common dining room where staff can assist residents who need help with seating, utensil use or specialized diets. Menus are developed with input from registered dietitians to accommodate low-sodium, diabetic and other physician-ordered meal plans. Snacks and beverages are available throughout the day, and residents who prefer to dine privately due to illness can receive tray service in their rooms.
Recreational and social services include organized dances, a structured activity center, a library and computer lounge for reading or internet use, live music programs, supervised social outings into the Reisterstown community and seasonal use of an outdoor swimming pool. These activities are scheduled by the life-enrichment staff to promote physical movement, cognitive engagement and social connection among residents.
