The Woodlands of Ocean Pines offers two levels of residency—Assisted Living and Independent Living—each supported by an on-site team trained to help adults who do not have dementia diagnoses. Licensed staff are available for residents younger than 60 as well as those over that age, providing routine wellness oversight, scheduled medication administration, and coordinated physician communication. For Assisted Living, caregivers can give some physical help with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting, and are prepared to assist with walker or wheelchair use, standby or supervisory support, and one-person transfers when mobility is limited. Independent Living residents may opt into medication-management monitoring if they prefer an additional safety net, but they otherwise live with minimal intervention.
Additional care features include regular vital-sign checks, help arranging off-site medical appointments, and 24-hour emergency response throughout the building. The community does not provide specialized programming for Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia conditions, so families seeking memory care will need to look elsewhere. A registered nurse supervises care planning and reassessment, and caregivers document changes in condition so that interventions can be adjusted promptly. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy can be coordinated through outside providers who visit the campus, allowing residents to recover or maintain function without leaving the property.
Studio and one-bedroom apartments come in several layouts; some have private bathrooms, cable hookups, and in-unit laundry, while others share these features centrally, so prospective residents should confirm the exact amenities in the suite they select. Emergency call systems and individually controlled heating and air are standard. Maintenance is handled by on-site staff, and weekly housekeeping is built into the monthly fee for Assisted Living, reducing day-to-day chores for residents.
Meals follow a set menu prepared by culinary staff who aim to meet recommended dietary guidelines while honoring physician-ordered restrictions. Three daily meals are served in the communal dining room, and snacks are available throughout the day. Residents who prefer solitude or need recovery time after an illness can request in-room dining. Independent Living tenants purchase a monthly meal plan that covers a predetermined number of meals but can also stock their own kitchens for additional flexibility.
Independent Living residents receive scheduled housekeeping, personal laundry service, and light linen changes. Medication-management monitoring is available for those who want staff to track refills and compliance, and transportation to routine medical appointments is offered. Laundry machines in select Independent Living units allow residents to do their own wash if they prefer.
Community amenities include a barber and beauty salon, a movie room with theater-style seating, a library, concierge desk for daily needs, and scheduled transportation for errands, worship services, and physician visits. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
