The Captain Lewis Residence provides both Assisted Living and Memory Care, allowing residents to remain on the same campus even as needs change. Medical oversight includes respite and short-term stays, diabetes management, speech therapy, and specialized programs for individuals with advanced dementia. A full clinical team—registered nurse, occupational and physical therapists, speech therapist, and podiatrist—works on site. Services extend to incontinence management, ambulatory and hospice care, and comprehensive medication management, reducing the need for outside appointments.
Daily support is structured and monitored. An Activity Director coordinates programming, while a fenced rear area and door-alarm system help keep residents with cognitive decline safe. Staff deliver full assistance with bathing, dressing, and toileting, plus some physical help at mealtimes. Transfer capabilities range from standby supervision to one- and two-person assists and Hoyer lift transfers, accommodating walkers and wheelchairs alike.
Private and semi-private living areas are available furnished, and many include cable service and regular housekeeping, although not every unit comes with all these features. Rooms are configured to allow staff easy access for care tasks and to simplify navigation for residents with mobility or memory challenges.
Meals follow a set menu prepared to meet varying dietary requirements, with routine options for gluten-free, vegetarian, mechanical-chopped, and thickened-liquid diets. Snacks are available between meals, and staff are trained to provide cueing or direct assistance for residents who need help eating.
The campus is wheelchair accessible throughout, offers internet access for residents and visitors, and provides scheduled transportation for medical appointments and community outings, helping residents stay connected and engaged outside the residence.
