Courtland Rehab & Living Center is licensed as a nursing home, so the core service is 24-hour skilled nursing care. Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants monitor vital signs, manage medications, and carry out physician-ordered treatments around the clock. The center is equipped to handle short-term post-hospital rehabilitation as well as long-term custodial stays, providing physical, occupational, and speech therapies up to seven days a week. Wound management, IV therapy, pain control, and tracheostomy care are available, and the staff can arrange on-site visits from specialists if medically necessary.
Complementing the direct nursing services, the facility offers care coordination and discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition home or to another setting. A medical director oversees clinical protocols, and consulting pharmacists review each resident’s medication regimen for safety and effectiveness. Laboratory work, imaging, and diagnostic services can be performed on-site or through mobile providers, reducing the need for outside appointments. Hospice support, respite stays for family caregivers, and disease-specific programs for conditions such as congestive heart failure or diabetes are also part of the service mix.
Residents can choose between private and semi-private rooms, each furnished with an adjustable bed, wardrobe, nurse-call system, and accessible bathroom; some rooms include in-room showers, individual climate control, or a small sitting area, but these features are not available in every accommodation. Basic cable, Wi-Fi access, daily housekeeping, and personal laundry service are provided. Shared lounge areas, a therapy gym, and a secure outdoor courtyard give residents additional places to spend time with visitors or participate in activities. The community allows pets, subject to size and behavior guidelines. It’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
Meals are prepared under the supervision of a registered dietitian, with menus that accommodate regular, diabetic, cardiac, renal, mechanical-soft, and pureed diets. Most residents dine in a communal room designed to promote social interaction, but tray service can be delivered to the bedside when medically indicated. Snacks and hydration stations are available between meals, and staff monitor intake to support proper nutrition. Family members may arrange to share meals with residents, and special holiday or event menus are offered throughout the year to add variety without compromising dietary requirements.
