Odd Fellows & Rebekahs' Home of Maine provides three distinct levels of support—Assisted Living, Residential Care, and Memory Care—under one roof. The community is equipped to manage residents who wander or attempt elopement at any time of day and can accommodate individuals who exhibit combative or other behavioral issues. Specialized oversight is available for people who stay up all night, require wound care, oxygen therapy, or follow physician-ordered diets. Diabetic residents are accepted whether they use oral medication, injections, or sliding-scale insulin, and the staff also cares for adults under 60 as well as those with advanced dementia.
An RN or LPN is on staff around the clock, and a nurse is physically on site 24 hours a day. Overnight, awake staff members monitor residents, reinforced by door alarms, a fenced rear area, pull-cord and personal emergency response systems. Caregivers can provide full assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting. Transfer help ranges from standby supervision all the way to two-person or full Hoyer-lift transfers, and bed-bound residents are accepted. An activity director plans daily engagement while security measures ensure residents remain safe throughout the building and grounds.
Accommodations include furnished studios and suites, and residents may paint or decorate to suit personal taste. Cable service, housekeeping, and scheduled laundry are available, although not every room contains every feature, so it is advisable to verify specific amenities when touring. Independent Living residents in designated areas can opt for medication-management monitoring, routine housekeeping, weekly laundry, and a monthly meal plan without moving to a higher level of care.
Meals are prepared on a set menu with an on-order option for alternate choices, and snacks are available throughout the day. In-room dining is provided when needed, and the kitchen can honor mechanical-chop, puréed, thickened-liquid, and other physician-ordered modifications. Special diets are accommodated for diabetes, cardiac needs, and other medical conditions, extending the same nutritional rigor to Independent Living residents who participate in the meal plan.
Community amenities include wheelchair-accessible common areas, an on-site barber and beauty shop, a movie room, internet access, a library, communal gardens, and regular religious services inside the building. Scheduled transportation helps residents reach medical appointments, shopping, and local events.
