Brookdale Alexandria offers two levels of care—Assisted Living and Memory Care—supported by an on-site clinical team. Residents have access to 12- to 16-hour nursing coverage each day, regular visits from nurses, and coordinated services such as speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, wound care and a mental wellness program. The community accepts residents with moderate dementia and provides secured Memory Care programming designed around safety and routine. Diabetes management is available, and the staff can coordinate hospice services or short-term respite stays as needs change. An awake night-shift team monitors care plans and delivers medication management, helping to maintain continuity around the clock.
Incontinence management, ambulatory assistance and full support with bathing, eating, dressing and toileting are delivered by trained caregivers. Residents who use walkers or wheelchairs, or who need a one-person stand-by transfer, receive individualized mobility support. A massage therapist visits regularly, and an enclosed courtyard lets Memory Care residents enjoy the outdoors safely. Laundry, linen and housekeeping are handled on site, so families can focus on wellness rather than chores.
Private studios, efficiencies and select one-bedroom layouts are available, and some feature kitchenettes, washer-dryer units, private patios, balconies or decks. All residences include central air conditioning, cable or satellite TV access, Wi-Fi, and wheelchair-accessible showers, but not every apartment contains every listed feature. Indoor and outdoor common spaces range from quiet library and computer lounges to landscaped gardens and walking paths, giving residents multiple places to relax or socialize.
Meals are served restaurant-style, with staff able to accommodate physician-ordered diets such as diabetic or low-sodium plans. Between meals, snacks are available to support consistent blood-sugar management and general hydration. Care staff can provide full assistance with eating when required, ensuring that residents with motor or cognitive limitations maintain proper nutrition.
Residents have access to on-site parking, wheelchair-accessible entrances, a barber and beauty shop, wellness center, game room, arts and crafts studio, fireside living room, greenhouse gardening areas, and multiple indoor and outdoor gathering spots such as a porch and landscaped grounds. A library, piano, flat-screen TVs, and a reservable community room for family events are also on the premises. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed. On-site religious services provide an additional layer of support for spiritual well-being.
