Hickory Woods delivers three levels of care—Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care—allowing residents to move between services as their health needs change. Licensed nurses are on-site or on-call around the clock to oversee medication administration, routine health assessments, and coordination with outside physicians. In the secured Memory Care program, staff trained in dementia techniques monitor behavior changes and tailor daily routines to each resident’s cognitive abilities, while ensuring consistent supervision and fall-prevention measures. Independent Living residents can opt into the same clinical resources on an as-needed basis, making it possible to age in place without relocating to another community.
Additional support services include scheduled transportation to medical appointments, on-site rehabilitation therapy partnerships, and regular wellness clinics for blood-pressure checks and chronic-condition management. A comprehensive emergency call system links every apartment to staff response teams in under a minute. Residents also have access to assistance with bathing, dressing, mobility, and continence care, with personalized care plans reviewed monthly to keep services aligned with current health status. Family members receive care updates through secure digital portals and in-person conferences.
Accommodations range from studios to one- and two-bedroom apartments as well as companion suites. Units may feature private bathrooms with roll-in showers, kitchenettes, individual climate controls, cable readiness, and generous closet space, but not every apartment includes every feature. Weekly housekeeping, linen service, and maintenance are standard, and residents can schedule additional cleaning at cost. Common areas include a library, activity rooms, outdoor walking paths, and a beauty salon. Small pets are welcome under community guidelines; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
Three chef-prepared meals are served daily in a central dining room, with à la carte menu choices and table service. Pureed, low-sodium, diabetic, and other physician-ordered diets are accommodated, and snacks are available anytime from self-serve stations and bistro areas. Residents can request tray service in their apartments during short-term illness, and families are encouraged to join meals for a nominal fee. A registered dietitian reviews menus for nutritional balance, while resident food committees provide feedback to keep offerings aligned with preferences.
