The Homeplace at Midway supports three levels of residential care. Independent Living is available for residents who want the security of a senior community without daily assistance. Assisted Living adds help with routine activities such as bathing, dressing, and medication reminders while still encouraging as much self-direction as possible. A dedicated Memory Care program is designed for people living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias and is delivered in a secured environment to minimize wandering and confusion.
Beyond the basic levels of residence, the community maintains a secured campus and provides diabetes management, respite or short-term stays, and access to a speech therapist. On-site medical resources include incontinence and ambulatory care, medication coordination and management, hospice support, and therapy services from occupational, physical, and speech specialists. An optometrist and a podiatrist visit regularly, and the memory-care areas are laid out specifically to support those with cognitive loss. Licensed staff monitor health status, coordinate with outside physicians, and adjust care plans as needs change.
Apartments and suites may feature Wi-Fi, cable or satellite television, wheelchair-accessible showers, and handicap-accessible layouts. Select units include a central fireplace, and many overlook landscaped outdoor areas where residents can sit with visiting friends or family. The property is pet friendly, offers parking for residents who still drive, and houses a piano or organ for casual use and scheduled programs. Not every accommodation includes every listed feature, so it is best to confirm specifics during a tour.
Three daily meals are prepared and served in the community dining room, with staff available to help residents who need assistance carrying trays, cutting food, or tracking specialized diets. Menus change regularly and accommodate physician-ordered nutrition plans, including diabetic and texture-modified selections. Snacks and beverages are accessible throughout the day, and families can arrange guest meals with advance notice.
Recreational options include an activity center for crafts and group events, regularly scheduled social outings, and a library and computer lounge for reading or internet use. Residents can enjoy outdoor walking paths, raised garden beds, and other allowed outdoor spaces. Clubs, birthday celebrations, and other community gatherings round out the social calendar and encourage engagement with neighbors.
