The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Lexington is a dedicated memory care community that provides continuous support for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. Care is centered on individualized memory-care plans, and families can arrange respite or short-term stays when temporary help is needed.
Medical oversight is available around the clock in this secured community. A nurse coordinates daily care, and physicians visit regularly to manage conditions such as diabetes or to oversee hospice services when appropriate. Residents have access to medication management, incontinence care, and ambulatory assistance, and the building is designed specifically to accommodate memory loss with monitored entrances and exits. On-site services from physical, occupational, and speech therapists, as well as a podiatrist and dentist, reduce the need for outside appointments and help keep residents’ health routines consistent.
Apartments are offered in several layouts, and while features vary by unit, many include wheelchair-accessible showers, convenient parking options, and access to outdoor areas for fresh air and supervised walks. The community is pet friendly, allowing residents to bring a small companion animal to approved apartments, though availability of pet-accommodating units can be limited.
Meals are provided three times a day and are served in a communal dining space. Menus are developed to support the nutritional needs of older adults, and staff can adjust portion sizes or textures for residents who have swallowing difficulties or physician-ordered diets.
Residents have use of an activity center for crafts, exercise sessions, and discussion groups, and regular social outings keep them engaged with the broader Lexington community.
