The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Frankfort is a memory-care–only community that admits residents living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. In addition to long-term memory care, the campus offers respite or short-term stays, giving family caregivers a break while ensuring continuity of professional support. Residents have routine access to a physician, on-site diabetes management, and licensed speech, physical, and occupational therapists. These services are delivered in a coordinated manner aimed at maintaining function, managing chronic conditions, and reducing avoidable hospital visits.
The building is a fully secured community, reducing the risk of wandering while allowing supervised freedom of movement. On-site nurses provide 24-hour oversight, administer medications, and coordinate care plans that may include incontinence care, ambulatory assistance, or hospice services when appropriate. The environment is designed specifically to accommodate memory loss, with clear sightlines, calming décor, and purposeful cues. Additional clinical resources such as a dentist, podiatrist, and visiting hospice team are available, and the staff is trained to handle diabetic and other specialized care needs.
Residences are purpose-built for safety and comfort. Depending on the suite selected, features can include wheelchair-accessible showers, individual climate control, kitchenettes, Wi-Fi, and access to outdoor areas. Some units are pet-friendly, and common spaces such as a central fireplace, piano, and ample parking add to day-to-day convenience. Because floor plans and features differ, prospective residents should confirm which amenities are included in a specific room.
Dining is prepared on site, and three daily meals are included in the monthly fee. The culinary team can accommodate physician-ordered and preference-based diets, including no-sugar desserts, low or no sodium entrée options, gluten-free preparations, kosher-style selections, and vegetarian plates. Snacks are available throughout the day, and staff members are trained to assist residents who need help with eating or have swallowing difficulties.
The community supports an active daily schedule that includes an activity center, a library and computer lounge, hobby clubs, arts and crafts sessions, and structured health and wellness programs such as yoga or chair yoga. Residents can stroll outdoor walking paths, tend raised garden beds, join karaoke nights, celebrate birthdays, and attend live-music performances. Scheduled social outings and intergenerational programs foster engagement beyond the campus, and during warmer months a swimming pool offers additional low-impact exercise opportunities.
