Abilene Place South is an assisted-living community designed for residents who need daily support but want to retain as much independence as possible. On-site staff provide diabetes care, including blood-glucose monitoring, medication reminders and coordination with outside providers when additional clinical services are required. The goal is to maintain stable health while reducing hospital visits.
The community operates as a secured environment with controlled access points to help residents remain safe. A comprehensive sprinkler system is installed throughout the property, and staff are on duty around the clock to respond to routine needs or emergencies.
Residents may choose from studio apartments that can include kitchenettes, window treatments, carpeting, and in-unit washers and dryers. Wi-Fi, a central fireplace, parking, an on-site piano or organ, outdoor sitting areas and fitness programs are also available, though not every unit contains every feature. The property is pet-friendly, allowing residents to bring approved small animals after consultation with staff.
Three daily meals are prepared and served in the dining room, and staff accommodate common dietary requirements. Meal service is included in the monthly rate, eliminating the need for grocery shopping or cooking.
Daily life is supplemented by an activity center, a library and computer lounge, organized social outings, community events and live music. Residents can join happy hour gatherings, birthday parties, dances and other social and recreational programs designed to maintain engagement and foster a sense of community.
