SunnyBrook of Mt. Pleasant offers two primary levels of care: Assisted Living and a dedicated Memory Care program. Licensed nursing staff oversees medication administration, health monitoring, and the coordination of physician-ordered treatments. For residents in Memory Care, caregivers trained in dementia support follow individualized care plans that address behavioral changes, safety concerns, and cognitive stimulation. On-site wellness checks and scheduled visits from outside healthcare providers help detect changes in condition early, allowing interventions to be put in place quickly.
Beyond daily health oversight, the community provides routine assistance with bathing, dressing, and mobility, along with 24-hour emergency response. Rehabilitation therapists visit as ordered to deliver physical, occupational, or speech therapy, and the team can coordinate with hospice or home health agencies when higher acuity support is needed. Transportation for medical appointments, lab draws, and pharmacy services is arranged to keep residents up to date with external providers, while family communication protocols ensure relatives receive prompt updates on any significant health events.
Apartments come in a range of floor plans, from studio layouts to larger one-bedroom options. Features such as private bathrooms with walk-in showers, individual climate controls, emergency call systems, and basic kitchenettes are common, although not all accommodations have all the features. Weekly housekeeping, flat-linen service, and maintenance are included. Small pets are allowed in certain units; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
Meals are served in a communal dining room where residents choose from rotating menus developed by a registered dietitian. Three daily meals, plus snacks, are prepared on site, with therapeutic diets available for conditions such as diabetes or hypertension. Staff provide cueing or hands-on assistance during meals in the Memory Care neighborhood to support adequate nutrition and hydration. Residents may also request tray service during short-term illness, and family members are welcome to reserve the private dining space for special occasions.
