Bishop Drumm Retirement Center offers three residential care options—Independent Living for residents who want minimal assistance, Assisted Living for those who require help with daily tasks, and Memory Care designed for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. Each level of care is staffed by personnel trained to match the service intensity residents need, with 24-hour access to support.
Additional medical resources are in place for chronic and acute health issues. On-site skilled nursing covers pain management, wound care, incontinence care, and medication management. Physical, occupational, and speech therapists are available, and a podiatrist visits routinely. The campus supports respite and short-term stays, diabetes monitoring, ambulatory care, hospice, and continuing care arrangements. Nurses coordinate with residents and families, and counseling services help with care planning and adjustment.
Accommodations range from studio and efficiency layouts to units in the Midwest Village area, each designed for safety and accessibility. Some residences include wheelchair-accessible showers, in-unit washers and dryers, or Wi-Fi; not every unit contains all these features. Outdoor areas, landscaped grounds, and on-site parking give residents convenient spaces to move about and receive visitors.
Dining services provide three daily meals cooked on site, with menus adjusted for dietary needs such as low-sugar or heart-healthy options. Residents may choose restaurant-style seating or request meal delivery to their apartments when necessary. Staff monitor nutritional intake and coordinate with clinical providers to accommodate physician-ordered diets.
Residents can take part in an activity center that hosts arts and crafts, clubs, and community gatherings. Health and wellness programs support exercise and preventive care, while a library and computer lounge offer quiet study or internet access. Scheduled social outings allow residents to stay connected to the Johnston community and surrounding attractions.
