River Valley Place of Fort Madison offers two levels of residential care: Assisted Living for residents who need help with everyday tasks and Memory Care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. Both programs are designed to support daily routines while encouraging as much independence as possible.
Additional medical support includes short-term Respite stays and specialized Diabetes Care. Professional, certified staff members, including licensed nurses, are on duty 24 hours a day to provide medication management, ambulatory assistance, incontinence care, and help with activities of daily living. An emergency call system and wearable response pendants connect residents to staff at any hour, and the Memory Care neighborhood is secured for resident safety.
Apartment options range from studio and efficiency layouts, some with kitchenettes, wall-to-wall carpeting, and central air conditioning. Cable television and Wi-Fi are available, and primary utilities are included in the monthly rate; telephone and cable packages can be arranged separately. Select units overlook outdoor garden areas or other landscaped spaces, and the community is pet-friendly, though not every apartment includes every listed feature.
Dining services provide three restaurant-style meals each day, with menu choices that include low- or no-sodium and no-sugar options. Healthy snacks are available between meals. Staff members can accommodate specialized diets as needed, and residents may request tray service if they are temporarily unable to dine in the main room.
Residents have access to an on-site activity center, a full-time activity director, and scheduled life-enrichment programs that include health and wellness classes, social outings, clubs and community groups, reminiscence programs, live music events, and dances.
