The Views of Cedar Rapids Meadowview Memory Care is dedicated exclusively to Memory Care residents. The community is equipped for respite or short-term stays, diabetes management, regular physician visits, and speech therapy. Residents live inside a secured environment designed to protect those with cognitive impairment while giving families confidence in their loved one’s safety.
Additional on-site health resources streamline care and reduce the need for outside appointments. Memory Care programming is supported by incontinence services, ambulatory assistance, hospice coordination, medication management, and therapy services that include occupational, physical, and massage therapy. Dental, podiatry, and other specialized providers visit the campus, and every area is planned specifically to accommodate memory loss.
Private and companion suites are available, and floor plans vary in size and features. Some apartments include kitchenettes, cable or satellite TV, Wi-Fi, and wheelchair-accessible showers, while others are more streamlined for residents who prefer a simpler setup. All have individual climate controls, and common areas feature a central fireplace, a piano, and multiple outdoor courtyards. The property is pet-friendly, though not every accommodation can host animals, and accessible design elements such as widened doorways and hand-bar rails support residents who use mobility devices. Parking is available for visitors and approved resident drivers.
Dining is handled by a professional chef who prepares three daily meals and snacks, with an all-day dining option for residents who prefer flexible schedules. Menus are created to meet nutritional guidelines for older adults and can be adjusted for physician-ordered diets, including those needed for diabetes management. Family members are welcome to join loved ones for guest meals, and hydration stations are located throughout the building to encourage regular fluid intake.
Residents have access to an activity center, library and computer lounge, indoor and outdoor walking paths, raised garden beds, and an on-site jacuzzi and swimming pool. Structured programs include chair yoga, fitness classes, Montessori and reminiscence sessions, sensory-based activities, and intergenerational events. Social calendars feature happy hours, live music, dances, birthday celebrations, clubs, and regular outings into the Cedar Rapids community, giving residents multiple opportunities to remain engaged and active.
