American Village offers Assisted Living, Independent Living, and specialized Memory Care. Care teams are trained to manage residents who wander, attempt elopement, display combative or other behavioral issues, stay up through the night, or live with advanced dementia. Medical support extends to wound care, oxygen usage, special diet preparation, and diabetes management whether on oral medications, injections, or sliding-scale insulin. Residents under 60 years old can be accommodated. Daily living assistance includes full help with bathing, dressing, and toileting, standby supervision at meals, and transfer assistance ranging from walker and wheelchair support to one-person transfers.

Clinical oversight is reinforced by an RN or LPN on staff, a nurse in the building around the clock, and an additional nurse on call 24/7. Safety measures include background-checked employees, awake night staff, 24-hour security, alarmed doors, fenced outdoor areas, pull-cord and PERS alert systems. An activity director coordinates programs suited to each level of care. On-site podiatry is available, and the community accepts residents with psychiatric diagnoses, aligning services to individual care plans.

Apartments can include a private bathroom, kitchenette, basic furnishings, independent temperature controls, cable service, and the option to paint or decorate the space, although not every unit contains every feature. Housekeeping and maintenance are provided, and wheelchair-accessible floor plans are available for those who need them.

Meals are served from a set menu with an on-order option at each seating, and snacks are available throughout the day. Therapeutic diets and texture or portion modifications are prepared under the supervision of clinical staff. Independent Living residents may opt into medication-management monitoring, weekly housekeeping, laundry service, and a monthly meal plan that offers flexible dining credits.

Residents have access to on-site parking, outdoor smoking areas, and wheelchair-accessible common areas. Amenities include a barber/beauty shop, exercise room, movie room, wellness center, internet access, communal gardens, on-site religious services, a library, a game room, paved walking paths, and a fishing pond. Scheduled transportation is provided, and the campus is close to public transit stops. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed.
