Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community provides three levels of care—Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care—on one campus. Residents who wander, attempt elopement, stay up through the night, or display combative or other behavioral issues can be accommodated, and the community cares for individuals living with advanced dementia. Medical support includes wound care, oxygen management, special diet preparation, and diabetic care for those on oral medications, injections, or sliding-scale regimens.
Clinical oversight is supported by RNs and LPNs, with a nurse on site 24/7 and an awake night shift. Background-checked staff respond to pull cords and PERS devices, while door alarms, wander guard technology, a fenced perimeter, and continuous security monitoring add layers of safety. On-site services include podiatry, audiology, dental visits, a therapy room, and acceptance of residents with psychiatric diagnoses. Staff can provide full assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and toileting and manage transfers ranging from walker support to Hoyer lift and bed-bound care.
Living options range from traditional rooms to larger apartments. Depending on the unit, residents may have a private bathroom, kitchenette, furnished space, independent temperature controls, and the option to paint or decorate. Cable service, housekeeping, and scheduled laundry are available, though not every accommodation offers all features. Independent Living residents receive medication-management monitoring, housekeeping, laundry, and a monthly meal plan as needed, allowing them to maintain autonomy with added support.
Meals are served by set menu or made-to-order, and snacks are available throughout the day. In-room dining and a private dining room accommodate personal preference or family gatherings. The culinary team manages special diets, including mechanical-chopped, puréed, thickened-liquid, vegetarian, and other physician-ordered modifications, ensuring nutritional needs are met for residents with complex medical requirements.
Amenities include resident parking, designated outdoor smoking areas, wheelchair-accessible buildings, and a full schedule of transportation. Pets are allowed; it’s a good idea to check with the community during your visit to see if your pet will be allowed. On-site features include a barber/beauty shop, exercise and wellness centers, movie room, internet access, communal gardens, religious services, concierge desk, library, indoor pool, special-interest clubs, ceramics and art studio, fishing ponds, pickleball and tennis courts, walking trails, woodshop, general stores, and a post office.
